Ride Along, starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, was disappointing.  Basically, it was a movie about a cop taking his future brother-in-law on a ride along to prove that he wasn’t ready to marry his sister.

This could have been such a good movie. The problem is that The movie wasn’t bad, the movie wasn’t good. It was just so…… blah.

The storyline was all over the place and just so unrealistic. I mean come on. A cop chasing the worst criminal in Atlanta?  A city police officer? I don’t think so.  Ice Cube’s acting wasn’t great and he was frankly just really annoying. His attitude from the beginning was annoying and it was only at the very end did it change. Kevin Hart could have done way better. Even though he had some funny moments, they weren’t enough to cover up his lackluster performance. I love Kevin Hart but this was just not his best performance.

The plot was lame. It looked like the writers tried to cram in as much action as possible, even some that weren’t necessary. Halfway through the movie people started becoming bored. Now I’m not saying that the movie didn’t have it moments. I laughed sometimes but it just wasn’t enough.  So if you like lame police movies with a hint of humor, then go see the movie. But if you don’t, then don’t go waste your time and money. On a scale from one to ten, ten being fantastic and one being failure, then I would give this movie a 5.
